Adventure Athlete Turned Strength Coach...

Through college and my active-duty career with the USAF, I was obsessed with Adventure Sports and being Outside. Pretty early on I found an obscure Sport called Adventure Racing which blended the disciplines of Biking, Trekking, Light-Mountaineering, River Sports, and Open-Water Paddling — all wrapped around your ability to self-navigate a 100’s of Miles for up to several days with a map & compass. It was a team sport, and I was one of the early crazy people to attempt and finish courses Solo.

I’m a great example of being purely Stubborn to the core. My family didn’t have a Sports background. I’m the first one I know of. So to be truly good at my Sports I had to be unbelievably fit, learn to train smart from experts, and become good at multiple sports at once. My competition was the mountain, the trail, the river, the night, the sun, no water or food, broken gear, and weather.
